About Ms. Roberts . . .
Ms. Roberts began teaching at King George High School in 2007. She holds a Commonwealth of Virginia Collegiate Professional License with dual certification in:
- Music: Instrumental PreK-12
- Music: Vocal/Choral PreK-12
Ms. Roberts is the Choral Director at KGHS and also currently teaches Piano I, Piano II, and Music Theory.
Ms. Roberts has been continually involved in ensemble and choral singing throughout her life, performing with many college, community, and barbershop choruses, as well as in a cappella groups. While in school, she played alto saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar, and piano and was active in college, community, and jazz bands.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington).
She is a member of music education organizations:
- NAfME (National Association for Music Education)
- VMEA (Virginia Music Educator's Association)
- VCDA (Virginia Choral Director's Association)
Prior to teaching public school, Ms. Roberts was a certified Yamaha Music School Instructor and also taught music privately.
